Amherst International
Folk Dancing

Evening dancing resumes on selected Fridays, starting November 5.
See details below and on the
schedule page.

We plan to resume Friday evening dancing twice a month, starting in November, with hybrid Zoom session. We'll continue dancing outdoors on the other Saturday mornings as long as weather permits. If you'd like to be on our email list to get updates as they become available, contact us.

For indoor dancing, masks are required, per Board of Health. See schedule for vaccination/testing requirements.

We meet every Friday evening except major holidays, from 7:30 to 10:00, alternating (approximately) between either the Unitarian Meetinghouse Social Hall and the Bangs Community Center (September - May), or the Unitarian Meetinghouse Social Hall and the Whately Dance Barn (June - August).

NOTE: At this time the Bangs Community Center has not re-opened for evening activities. Hence we are only meeting at the Unitarian Meetinghouse, twice a month.

The Unitarian Meetinghouse and the Bangs Community Center are in close proximity to each other, sharing the same parking areas. See the schedule for where we meet each week, and directions to the venues.

We are fortunate to have live music by Panharmonium (generally) on the first Friday of each month.

We do dances from a variety of cultures, primarily from the Balkans, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. The dance formations are mostly lines and circles, with some partner dances. We welcome dancers at all levels, from first-timers to veterans. You do not need to bring a partner. Please call (413) 549-6748 or (413) 323-6330 if you have any doubts as to whether holidays or winter weather will affect our schedule.
